As summer closes, we look forward to the new school year with Sunday School!
We unfortunately have not yet filled the position of lead Sunday School teacher. We continue to pray for a hire, but meanwhile we are planning the fall schedule with volunteers. However, our previous teachers are not enough to staff all the Sundays. That means we need more volunteers to occasionally to help with Sunday School (and nursery)!
We are asking everyone to consider helping out, from young parents to our older members. Many hands make light work. Please SIGN UP HERE to help once or twice for this fall. We need YOU to help make this important part of our church happen.
Details are below and most roles do not require any preparation. You just need to show up! If you have any questions, please reach out.
Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” (Matthew 9:14)
Thank you for considering!

Nursery
Be on hand if any little children need nursery care.
Helper teachers
You do NOT need to prepare anything.
You are an extra set of hands to interact with kids and offer your perspective on the scripture/lesson. (It’s fun and low pressure!)
Lead teachers
You prepare the lesson, based on an already-chosen curriculum. (The Sparkhouse Whirl curriculum has materials, videos, suggested activities and is easy to use.) You are also welcome to be creative!
You lead the lesson.
If you’d like to lead a lesson based on your own idea, please let us know. We have had people do lessons on communion, on missions, bake with kids, etc.
Typical outline of Sunday School: (35-45 minutes)
Open with kids sharing ups and downs of the week (“roses and thorns”) and leader follows with a prayer
Lesson with video/reading and question discussion
Movement activity and/or arts and crafts activity
Ending prayer in circle, led by leader or older youth
