One of the reasons I am excited that Lana has joined us as our office manager is her background in social media and communication. Over the past few months, as she’s settled in with us, we’ve also been talking about creating a new communication plan so that you might be better informed about what’s going on First Parish. Our hope is to not just offer updates about events coming up at the church, but to also pull back the curtain a little so that you can learn more about what’s going on behind the scenes at First Parish through weekly blog posts.
Each week will include a post with a regularly scheduled update, and every week will have a different post perspective. I’ll start each month’s rotation with some insights into what I’m hearing, seeing, doing, or thinking about. The second week of the month will have a council meeting reflection from our moderator, Mary. The third week of the month will offer a roundup of thoughts and links from the wider church, including from our UCC association, conference, and national church. The fourth week of the month will spotlight one of our ministries, either from one of our Pillar leads or from a specific ministry chair. If there’s a month that includes a fifth opportunity to post, we’ll add an extra post focused on any timely matters.
In addition to this regular blog post rotation, we’ll add other informational posts along the way. Both the regular posts and extra posts will be linked in our weekly email and across social media. We’re also looking to hear more from you, so if you have ideas on what might be helpful to add to our blog, drop a line and let us know!
