Christmas at First Parish Means Reaching Out to Others…

CHRISTMAS FAMILY OUTREACH

Again this year, the Ministry of Mission and Service will sponsor outreach to local families who are in need of a little extra help this holiday season.

On December 3rd and 10th, family gift ornaments will be available on the Christmas tree in the Parish Hall.  Each ornament will have the name, age, and Christmas gift wish of a child or parent.   Choose an ornament, buy the item, and bring it to the Parish Hall (wrapped or unwrapped) with the ornament attached by Sunday, Dec. 17th.

  • If you are unable to shop for a gift and would like to make a monetary donation, you are more than welcome to leave the money with the church office.  A First Paris Elf will do the shopping for you!
  • If you are interested in being a shopping Elf this year, please contact Tish Verzino at 781-320-8217.

On Sunday, Dec. 17th, all are invited to gather in the Parish Hall immediately after the Living Nativity to help wrap presents and put the finishing touches on them for delivery to the families.  Bring any extra wrapping paper, scissors, tape or bows you can contribute as well!

The Ministry of Mission and Service thanks you in advance for bringing joy in to the lives of so many who are having trouble making ends meet this year!

ALTERNATIVE GIFTS

Are you tired of wondering what to give the people in your life who already seem to have everything?  Do you want to give a gift that will help others help themselves?  Do you want to share God’s love with all of God’s people?  First Parish has the answer!

Again this year, you will be able to purchase Alternative Gifts during Coffee Hour on the first three Sundays in Advent.  This how it works:

  • Browse through the catalogues and posters in the Parish Hall describing the various programs and gift options.
  • Choose the gifts you would like to give, mark the catalogue, and turn it in at the Alternative Gift Table.
  • You will receive gift cards and inserts for each card explaining your gift.

New This Year:

Gift cards are available to sponsor initiatives for Honduras Hope, the outreach project that three First Parishioners participated in last summer in Honduras.  Ask Martha Crawford for details!
