word “heart” to mean our deepest self. How do we use the word “heart”?
What examples can you think of? 2. “The heart can be
turned toward God or away from God.” What experiences or places cause your
heart to be turned away from God? What experiences or places help your heart
to be turned toward God? 3. Are their times when
it is necessary to harden one’s heart or to close one’s heart? 4. Discuss: “The reason
we need to be born again is that we have closed hearts.” 5. “A thin place is
anywhere our hearts are opened; a means whereby the sacred becomes present to
us.” What are some thin places for you, places, locations, or experiences
where your heart becomes more open and receptive to God?” 6. “Worship can become
a thin place….The primary role of music within worship is to become a thin
place.” What experiences of worship or of music within worship have helped
