First Parish Extends
Invitation to Book Group
What does it truly
mean to be a Christian today? Is yours a
guilt-driven faith? Does your faith influence how you live, seven days a week? Where’s the joy? Do you have the spiritual strength you’re
seeking to make positive changes in your life?
Join the Heart of Christianity
book group at First Parish of Westwood and explore all these questions and
more.
First Parish
Church of Westwood extends an invitation to all to
read and discuss Marcus Borg’s thought-provoking book, The Heart of Christianity, at a ten-week discussion group, led by Rev.
Dr. Peter Lovett, Bob Gracia and Donna Bertazzoni. The book, which shows how to live
passionately as Christians in today’s world by practicing the vital elements of
Christian faith, will serve as a basis for lively and interesting discussion,
as well as a tool for self-reflection. During
Lent, Rev. Lovett’s weekly sermons at the 10 AM worship service will further
explore related concepts. All are invited and welcome to attend both the book
group and worship services.
The group will meet
on Wednesday evenings from 7 to 9 PM, beginning March 8th, in the
Parish Hall, located at 340
Clapboardtree Street in Westwood. Child care is
available. Books ($11) are available through
the Church Office. For more information
or to register, please call 781.326.5344.
